My client, MTV, wanted to offer a platform for creative artists. The mission is to create a digital experience paying tribute to music videos. My objective was to revisit the Beasties Boy - Intergalactic music video in a digitalized way.

To reinterpret the Beastie Boys music video, I decided to pay tribute to Pop Culture. The result is SPACE ROBOT - SQUID'S FURY, a single-player digital game featuring 3 gameplays with different artistic directions.

The experience retranscribes the storytelling and visuals of a music video. Each game evolves in terms of gameplay and artistic creation according to the era in which it is set.

Space Shooter

(Image 1) This first identity is taken from the famous game Space Invaders. I wanted to capture the atmosphere of retro games as much as possible in my own mind. So pixel-art was a natural choice.

I created my own sprites to develop the concept for the game. I used Illustrator and Figma to put my vision into place.

Rules where simple : Use the joystick that appears on your smartphone and follow the instructions on your computer to play! Relive 44 years of gameplay!

Dancing Game

(Image 2) This second identity refers to the popular game Just Dance. Identifiable by its bright colors and pop appeal, Just Dance is a benchmark in the world of dance video games.

For this one, I recreated the Just Dance game environment, then, using after effect, integrated real people dancing to help people keep up.

Fight Game

This latest identity is inspired by the famous fighting game Street Fighter. The offbeat universe features my 3D characters.

I used blender and Spline to create the 3D characters I needed for this game. I then animated the characters using Spline and created the HUD to better understand the basic mechanics. All this was added and edited in after effect and premiere pro to make the whole thing more attractive.
