Overview
For this project, I contributed to the development of an internal website aimed at centralizing and optimizing access to the company’s knowledge and expertise. The objective was to create a robust platform that would transform how employees interact with information, establishing it as a third pillar of productivity alongside Gmail and ClickUp. To achieve this, I applied a Quality Assurance perspective by:
Listing the expected functionalities to ensure clarity and alignment with user needs.
Conducting rigorous research on user requirements, analyzing existing websites and knowledge base solutions, and preparing and conducting user tests with both senior employees and newcomers.
Assessing bugs after the platform's deployment and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues efficiently.
My focus was to ensure the solution was comprehensive, easy to use, reliable, and bug-free.
Solution
Drawing on insights from research and user testing, I collaborated on the design of a website with a clean, modern interface that emphasized content accessibility and functionality. Key features included:
A variety of well-structured pages and advanced search options, ensuring users could locate the knowledge they needed quickly and accurately.
An RSS feed to keep employees updated on digital expertise developments.
A toolbox with filtering options, enabling users to seamlessly access critical resources such as key applications, the back-end marketplace, and aggregators.
From a QA standpoint, I played a key role by:
Preparing and implementing user tests to validate the platform's usability and functionality.
Performing bug assessments post-deployment, identifying issues, and resolving them in collaboration with development teams.
Continuously refining the platform to meet performance expectations and ensure a seamless user experience.
The goal was to eliminate inefficiencies and reduce the time spent searching for information to under five minutes.
Results
Since its launch, the website has been met with positive feedback from both senior employees and newcomers. Users praised its intuitive interface and the significant reduction in search time, with average search durations dropping to just 4.5 minutes. Additionally, the platform demonstrated high reliability, with minimal technical issues reported post-launch.
This project reflects my ability to integrate a Quality Assurance approach into the design and development process, ensuring the delivery of efficient, reliable, and user-centered solutions that meet the needs of diverse user groups while supporting organizational productivity.
